To enable user's to submit modification's and to help the blog software evolved, we have implemented a new section called modification database, ModDb for short.
Although documentation regarding this has not been produced yet, we have brought this feature live and intend to add documentation into the planned update.
The ModDb allows registered user's to upload their modification's in .zip archives to Mi-Dia ModDb. The modification's are then verified and approved, allowing other user's to benefit from the Modifications.
The submitter of the Modification is credited. To see the correct format you can view one by downloading one of the already approved modifications.
Along with this feature, two modification's have been added and approved by myself, these include a custom made MegaVideo BBcode and a port of Simple Custom MP3 BBcode for phpBB3.
We hope this feature will be beneficial for everyone.

For the Majority of Computer user's, all they know is Window's, which is purely down to the fact that most bought Computer's come with some variation of Window's installed. It may be easier this way for people new to computer's or just don't want to mess about with something they don't really understand.
Window's already installed? Sound's good to someone who only wants a computer for facebook. Even though this appears good, the computer tends to be overpriced due to the cost of a windows licence, and the buyer is very limited in the control of their computer, almost to the extent that Microsoft Controls it.
I used to like window's before I moved to Linux, I had been a user of 95 98 2000 Me XP and even Vista. Window's was the normal and I only had it because of the reason's stated above. It was convenient, but at the same time rather claustrophobic.
Reasons I left Windows
1) Everything Came with a Licence, which were an essay and prohibited basically doing anything apart from using it for its intended purpose.
2) If you did not like the look, you were stuck unless you patched ( hacked to be honest ) the themes.dll or installed bloated software like windowblinds.
3)Every day a new virus popped up
There are Alternatives
Those are just three of the reasons I searched for an alternate operating system, at first I wanted a Mac, but could not afford a modern one and OSX was bound to certain hardware. I eventually came across Linux, to be precise “Mandriva”.
I did not like Mandriva one bit, but it had caught my interest so I went mad, downloading all version's of linux I could find. Eventually finding Ubuntu which worked a charm.
Yes, I haven't fully gotten away from window's, purely down to certain games I like. But that's all I use window's for now.
My advice for anyone who has not tried linux, your best off doing so but don't go with the version which is most popular or the one someone told you was the best. They all suit different people.
You can find them all at http://www.distrowatch.com, so go and try them out, and you might find the perfect OS for you. View Full Entry Category: General Comments:0Tags:Linux OS
Recently we have been approached by some developer's interested in creating Modification's for Mi-Dia Blog. We are looking to pursue this and are currently developing a Modification Center which will allow developer's to submit their modification's.
This feature will also enable user's to download validated modification's to use on their own installations of Mi-Dia Blog. With Modification's being verified prior to being displayed, this will ensure that they are secure and will not bring harm to an installation.
Currently, we are working on the feature for handling the downloads, and hope to bring the Modification Centre online soon. As an initial modification we also intend to include a Veoh and Megavideo BBcode Mod, enabling Video playback from the respected source's in the same way that youtube video's can already be displayed.
With the release of Mi-Dia Blog 1.0.8 and its respective templates, we have also changed the template system on this website.
The link in the header no longer links to the templates demo, instead it links to a list of all the template posts, with it is also a link to the full templates demo.
Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but we felt this was the more organised approach. View Full Entry Category: News Comments:0Tags:Templates

The maintenance pertains to upgrading the main site to 1.0.8. Although an upgrade will be quick, due to the customisations on this site we will need to perform a full backup before hand to prevent any data loss if errors happen during the upgrade process.
As part of the roll out for Mi-Dia Blog 1.0.8, we are undergoing upgrades of features. This has included the release of the new Templates Demo and following this trend the Demo site has been upgraded.
The next Mi-Dia upgrade will compromise of Upgrading this blog to 1.0.8 and enabling all new features. View Full Entry Category: News Comments:0Tags:Demo upgrade

The profiler template is intended to be a dark and modern template for a contrast against the default template. Personally I have put a lot of work into it and love it, Depending on how development goes, a modified version may be used on this website.
